skimmate question?
My skimmer is putting out pretty good now, but occasionally I get dark wet skim. My question concerns the ATO. I am replacing the water lost from skimming with RO. Should I worry that this could shift the salinity, especially if I am away for several days?

The amount being removed by your skimmer is minimal, and you shouldn't need to worry about the shift, unless your skimmer is pulling out a cup a day.

My skimmer pulls out a cup plus a day and every week when i do water changes I make sure my replacement saltwater is higher in salinity to compensate and so far has worked out great.

Sounds like you are running it pretty wet.If you do regular water changes it shouldn't effect the salinity.

Lol you could just estimate how much skimmate you're removing, and just dump in that amount of freshly mixed saltwater once a week or so. I actually did notice after several months my salinity dropped about 0.002 points due to skimmate loss.

Sounds good. What do you use as your feed pump?
So with a recirculating skimmer like this, you don't have to worry about sump depth, right? Thanks.
