Tank cycle with live rock?

Hey all,

I currently run a 65 gal. I had about 25 lbs of rock in refugium for about 2 months or so I could take it out to seed my 300 gallon system I am building.

Any idea of how long the new tank cycle takes with live rock? Is it still the standard ~4 weeks?

My 300 gal sys is up and running and im anxious

If you jump started it with cycled rock it could cut down time some. Just make sure to keep feeding the bacteria.

I cycled my 56g tank with live rock & it only took a few weeks. But I did mine with about 100lbs of rock. Your doing a 300g with 25lbs rock. That might not give you a big boost of bacteria. So your cycle might be weak.
