What type of RODI unit are you using? It reads 25 with new filters? What is the reading before it gets filtered?
I live in LA and the reading is 360 going in and out is 0. I have a BRS 4 stage with DI.

Oh wow.. I've never dealt with 1000. Are the filters new?

Maybe add an extra RO membrane before your DI filter. Where abouts are you to have 1000 tds water??!!??

i really wouldnt fret about it..most folks shoot for the holy grail of 0 TDS, but in all reality 10 is fine in my book, meh 15 wouldnt scare me. folks will chime in with, well whats the other 15. might be bad, might be good, but i'd roll with it.

Does your RO system also have DI stages?
RO by itself generally removes 90-98% of impurities. In your case (1000 tds water), that leaves you with 20-100 tds after the RO membrane. If you're using a RO only filter (no DI), then I would think 25 tds is perfectly normal, considering your input tds of 1000. The DI stage(s) should remove the remaining tds down to zero.

its only "bad" if it causing you problems. if your tank looks good to you, stuff is growing/ thriving i would say it is not an issue. If you are asking about how well you RO system is working...that is another issue.

If you don't have a di on your ro unit, you should add one. This should reduce your tds to 0.

Buy a 2 stage DI unit and you will be fine and your TDS will be around 0. Spectra Pure makes great RO/DI units or just DI units. Good luck.

Well first of all i barely do water changes, top off water is about 15-25 ppm, i use a calcium rwactor to balance the big mac, i have mangroves, algae truf scrubber, chaeto, sand, carbon, rock and a smallskimmer for filtration, i use leds now, been having trouble with new lighting, but in time the tank will come back, lol, that photo was with t5 over it
