Blue Tang. Help!
I have a Sustainable aquatics Blue Tang that I got almost 2 months ago. He will only eat seaweed sheets, he is always hiding in the decorations so he will never come out to eat anything besides the seaweed which i put on a clip. Is this okay? Why is he always hiding?

your tank isnt in a high traffic area is it, or near a loud speaker/subwoofer, dog barking, wall adjacent to sexually active neighbor? They can sometimes be really afraid of vibrations and pounding

Its in our living room, so people do walk by it. But there is nothing else.

I dont care what anyone says if they disagree, blue hippo tangs have personality and I can tell ya they feel emotions. Maybe you just need to spend some time with the little bugger talk to him and let him know your not a threat. idk good luck man

Do you stand near the tank when feeding? What are the tankmates?
I recently purchased a yellow tang that was shy, and after reading someone's advice on here, I fed and stood at the tank until food was gone. Repeat, repeat, repeat. It took about two days for him to join in on the frenzy.

I have a couch for the fish when they feel the need to talk.

This. Either your tang is afraid of one of his tankmates, or you need some dither fish to encourage it to stay out.
