Kessils + DIY LED for filler, anyone doing this?
I'm running many setups through my head for my 210g build. Its a 7x2x2 Oceanic with a MONSTER 2' glass center brace that leaves roughly a 30x22" opening on each end of the tank. I've built a drop down "hood" from my ceiling that stops about 20" above the tank for storage and hiding lights and stuff. I'm aiming for mainly a LPS tank with a monticap or two and my latest hair brain idea is a Kessil a360 mounted 18" above each opening then a strip of DIY LEDs along the edges angled in twards the centerline of the tank for filler light. I know the middle will be a bit dim but I plan on building pillars/island of rock under each kessil/opening and leaving the middle open for swimming room since access is hampered by the big crossbrace. My thought are that I will get the awesome smimmer effect + "smooth out" the shadows caused by spotlight AND the effects will be adjustable. Anyone running a combo like this? How do you like it?
