LF: lighting for a small reef tank

A buddy of mine is looking to put some nice lights on his 29gal reef tank.
He's not too interested in SPS, maybe some LPS, but not any really tough ones; mostly softies. He wants to try to keep the budget to under $500 (his family is going to buy it for his bday), but we are open to other options. I'm thinking a Kessil as of now, but we're looking for advice. He's a really nice guy and this is is gonna be his birthday gift.

I have a reef radiance 132e on my wife's biocube and I love it.

I had an AI nano and I really liked it for a smaller tank

Have a sunbright slimline led unit I really like. They are inexpensive units, but I have yet to put any coral underneath it and have it not grow. Its on a 25 gal cube now...
