Six lined wrasse decided to end it all

Any ones have issues with 6 lined wrasses jumping out of the tank? I didn't think this was an issue with them, but I came out into the living room to find him on the floor this morning.

Any fish can jump, wrasses are particularly known to be jumpers.

Many wrasses are prolific jumpers. At the end of the day, though, he would have likely kill many more fish. The Six Lined is incredibly aggressive.

Interesting comment about them being aggressive. My six lines have never been aggressive towards anything ever and there are some I had for years.

OP, wrasses are known to jump if stressed or startled. While I've never had one jump out of my tank due to the arrangement of my tanks top along with it's size, I have had them jump out of acclimation containers. I've also had them go through my overflow grating and find their way into my overflow.

Wrasses can be pretty sly little fish and can find their way into weird places.

My buddies six line jumped 2 days ago. He was bewildered, because his tank has glass cover. He got out by the incredibly smallest area possible. Brutal.

Well lesson learned, the interesting thing is there are very few areas to get out of and the water level was low by about an inch. I guess I'll have to make those areas are covered. Thanks for the answers, for some reason I thought they weren't prone to jumping, but I guess I was wrong.

Somehow a fish that is prone to jumping will always find a way out if there is one. It's happened to me multiple times and I finally sealed up the tank completely.

With 480 gallons and all of that live rock to navigate I doubt he'll ever show much aggression lol. He's living in the lap of luxury.

Years ago when I bought my dwarf lionfish it was jumping 6-8 inches out of the water trying to avoid being captured. They all jump.

The 6 line my 26g reef was quite aggressive and such a glutton! I would put some prawn eggs in the tank for the fish and then begin spot feeding the gorgonian. The 6 line would sit there and wait until there was food in the polyps of the gorgonian and snatch from them so he didnt have to swim around and snag the eggs from the water. He'd promptly start chasing my clown (anemone was close to the gorgonian) all over the place. After about 8 months, the wrasse decided it was time to jump. I wasnt too disappointed truth be told... Only thing meaner was an arabian pseudochromis; thing was tiny but I'm positive it was the spawn of satan!
