Reef Octopus BH90 for 75 gallon?
I'm a newbie when it comes to protein skimmers, as this will be my first. Looking for a quite HOB protein skimmer for my 75 gallon, as the tanks is 5 feet from my bed. I was looking at this one or the reef octopus BH2000. The tank will be moderately stocked with a few soft corals. Bulkreefsuply has it rated for heavy stock 75 gallon, but not sure on how accurate that is.

I used to have the bh2000 in my bedroom on a 60 reef, and I had to unplug it at night because my then girlfriend could not sleep through the noise. It worked really well but is noisy. I currently run the bh2000 (keep lps, sps, soft) on an 80 gallon mixed reef. Never had experience with the 90 version.

With the bh90 being 350 gph and the bh2000 at 500gph, I'm thinking the newer model makes up for that loss of gph. I heard that it's better than the bh1000 but haven't heard of anyone putting it on a 75g yet. Also I heard that these got a new pump a few years ago and hoping you had the older style pump. Maybe the newer ones are quieter? I'll probably get the bh2000 sinch I don't want to underfiltrate but it would be nice to get the smaller quieter pump. Unless anyone has a bh90 on a 75g?
