Noisy, slow draining durso pipe

I just setup this tank last month and it is my first tank with durso pipes. I have noticed when I changed the sock filter the pipes start making noises. Is it because there is too much flow going through the pipes? I have 1/4" tubes sticking out the top of them for venting.

These are not DIY pipes. I think they are the Marineland kits from the store. My tank is a Aqueon 125g. Below is the video of what I am talking about. I am a light sleeper so these noisy pipes are driving me crazy.

How are the drains plumbed from the bulkhead to the sump? What flow is your return pump rated for?

They both meet at a T-fitting before dumping into my sump. I believe its 1-1/4" pipe. I have a Gen-X PCX-40 Pump 1190 GPH max . I'd say there is 5 ft of head up from the sump area to the tank.

Get rid of the T and have both drains separate and as straight a shot into the sump as possible. I wanted to put a T on my drain lines too, see my thread:http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2347350

Also your return pump may be too much flow for the drains to handle, again see the thread I posted. What size are your bulkheads?

That's what I was thinking. separating them. I think my bulkheads are 1" diameter each and I have two.
