Submersible return pumps?

I have a 75g Reef setup (48x16x30) with a decent sized sump (10x20x30) and two plumbed 1/2" returns split from a single 3/4" which runs direct to my return pump. I am currently running a Quiet One 5000 as my return pump but I think I want some more flow in my tank. The Quiet one is almost 4 years old. I have a new Rio17hf that I've been sitting on for over a year as my 'backup' in case the quiet one breaks down. I hear from my local store that the Rio will push more water, but will also be louder (vibration). Before I swap it out to find out for myself, I was wondering what other people are using to push the most water, generate the least heat (suubmersible only) and run the quietest. Price is not much of an issue, I just want the best out there. Suggestions welcome!

For an internal pump I look no further than Eheim. The pump will last pretty much forever with minimal maintenance. A 1260 would problably be enough, but I would spring for a 1262. It can always be dialed back with a valve, or, like I did, split to run reactors.

The eheim 1260 does very well in my 60 cube but it is running full open through 5' of 3/4" that Ts to to 1/2" outlets. The pump is virtually silent and has run flawlessly for two years with quarterly vinegar cleaning. I would go for the 1262 on yours because your tank has a longer footprint in length so the extra fow available would be better IMO.

My eheim ran for 7 years without a hitch! I only changed it out because I went with a bigger tank!

Wow. Everyone seems to like the Eheim pumps. Didn't see that one coming! I'll look into them. Thank you!

Eheim makes a great pump. I've been happy with my Laguna Max Flo 1350! The Lagunas are a little bit nicer IMHO: dead silent, reliable, and efficient. The only knock on Lagunas is their lack of a solid base (they're kinda weird shaped). Socaltropicalfishoutlet sells a nice acrylic stand with soft rubber feet for $20...problem solved.
