start up of new aquarium

I am new to the aquarium community. I have a 90 gallon w/40 gallon sump, protein skimmer, led lighting, and plenty of powerheads. I think that I am ready to start adding saltwater and getting some live rock with a small base layer of sand.

I am wondering if there is anything that I am missing and if so I would like some advice and direction for start up.

Thanks

first i would search for a thread about cycling a new tank....there's tons of info around the net.... that's your first step and gonna take a bit.... resist the temptation and do not buy any live stock until your parameters are good.... if you haven't already i would invest in good test kits and refractometer

Exactly; and get ready to read a lot or you will have a very difficult time.

Another key piece of equipment I forgot to mention is to invest in a ro/di unit.. Unless you have access to Ro/di Water from your lFS.... Your gonna need it for WC and top off water..... Tap water is counter productive and will cause problems

I do have a ro system for water changes/fill-up. I did see some info on a quarantine tank in case something gets sick in my tank. Any info on that, or how to accomplish it the easiest way possible.

Thanks

a quarentine tank is basically an extra tank you have setup that's an exact replica of water conditions as your DT that you use when fish get ill or when you get a new coral you can watch for a few days to make sure it doesn't have any pests on it so you don't introduce anything harmful to your main tank... it can be a small 10 g tank
