Washing used calcium reactor media

I picked up a calcium reactor from a friend and I am going to get it cleaned up before I use it. Itook all the media out and figured I would rinse it off as it has been sitting a while. When I rinse it the water turns milky white. Is this normal or do I need to rinse it until the water turns clear?

Just rinse it until the water turns clear and you'll be just fine with it. I'm assuming this is the larger grained media, and not the small Carib-Sea or old Koralith media?
