Can my pH probe be saved?!?! HELP
So I bought a Neptune Lab Grade pH probe about 4 months ago. My tank isn't setup yet but I'm trying to finish it in the next few weeks.
When I looked at my pH probe today, the liquid had leaked out of the condom that was on the probe. It was covered in salt creep and the diode didn't look wet. I've herd if the probe dries out it is done. Is there any way I could save it or do I need to get another probe. I really hate to waste $70 on another probe. I never even got to use it

It sounds like the glass bulb broke. In that case the probe is useless.

It doesn't seem broken anywhere. It's as if the condom lost it's grip and let loose. I don't have any saltwater to submerge it in but I do have 35ppt pinpoint calibration fluid. Do you think if I was to refill the condom and have it soak for a weeks it might work again?
If not, should I get another Neptune lab grade pH probe or BRS lab grade pH probe? BRS describes that their pH probe is made with better quality materials but not sure how it stacks up to the Neptune lab grade pH probe. If someone can chime in on their experiences with these probes that would great.

You're talking about the little cover on the end of the probe when it is brand new? You're supposed to remove that before you use the probe. Sometimes when storing a probe you can put a little KCl solution in there to keep the probe from drying out but it is usually dry when it is brand new.
Got a pic of what you're describing?

Once a probe dries out it's done for. I've got a bad probe right now and found pinpoint pH probes for $41

Unfortunately I do not have a picture. I already cleaned it up and filled it with 35ppt calibration fluid. I'm going to see if I can salvage it somehow. Quote:
Looks like I got to get another probe.
