dark areas on T5 bulbs?
I jsut replaced 2 48" T5 bulbs on my system. The bulbs are ATI aquablue special and Coral +
Both bulbs are new from a reliable vender but both bulbs have a dull/shaded/dim section about 1/3 the length of the bulb. The rest of the bulb looks great. Is this typical with new bulb? Bad transformer? (both bulbs are on the same one) Bad connection? Thanks for advice and comments! |

Post your info on your ballast. Instant start? Rapid Start? PF= .8 or .9 or 1.o or 1.1?

bulbs are burning bright and even..... must have been a startup thing? After checking on them after about 20 min running they look great!

I found the same thing when i replaced two bulbs on my fixture. I touched the middle of the bulb and they were cold. Once they warmed up they evened out.
