Well it would help if you would give us a break down of your tank along with the problems you are having.

Thank you

My clowns have Ich which I've previously posted in disease forum. Anemone keeps moving around, mushrooms look ok. My biggest concerns... 1 are carbon filters ok? 2.the ich 3. Do I need different lighting. 4. How necessary is UV lighting. 5 should I get a protein skimmer

Yes, you should get a protein skimmer. It can only help.

Did you quarantine your clowns before you put them in your display tank? If yes, for how long?

Anemone could be moving to find the right flow. What type of lighting are you running? T5, T8, MH, LED? What kind of powerheads do you have? Carbon filters are fine, but not necessary. I would go with a skimmer instead of a HOB filter. For Ich, you need to get the fish into a Quarantine and medicate or do the tank transfer method first. UV lighting is not necessary. Again, I would recommend a skimmer.

Sg is a little on the higher side than most like. Nitrates are too high. Need to get those down at least to 5ppm or less. Phosphates have gotta go as well. Alk is fine, Ca is fine, and temp fine.

Nitrates might be from the HoB filters you got. Try cleaning them out and recheck levels in 24 hours. You will need to be vigilant with cleaning those.

As stated above a skimmer would be better than the HoBs. If you don't have room for a sump, a HoB skimmer is a good choice. I used a BH1000 on my 30g.

Filtration: Protein skimmer, surface Skimmer and about 1 pd live rock per gallon is what I would recommend.

Lighting: I think 4 watts per gallon for lighting. I had a UV filter (its a light in a tube) and thought it was a waste, I only used it because it was external and didn't take up any room. I have 2x65Watt compact fluorescent over a 55 Gallon Tank and I can only support low light corals. That's about 2.3 watts per gallon

As for Ich can't help you except lots of things don't like copper, so don't use a treatment with copper in it. Time to read up on quarantine tanks.

Thats a great start. How are your water parameters looking? To lower your Nitrates do water changes.

Also look to add more lighting to the tank. That Nem you have may become seriously upset soon because of that and the dirty water. If that goes, down goes your tank.

yea as BlindZide stated you might want to increase lighting and do water change to keep the Anemone satisfied

Ok nitrates are dropping and I also started a daily dosing for nitrate reduction. I know this takes some time to become effective. Meanwhile my clowns remain alive and well in quarantine. Im wing to increase lighting but not sure what rout to take. I double checked my lights are 15Watts.each. They are not sufficient I know... Anemone seems to be doing well as I mentioned he us little bout a big as a quarter with 3 arms had two originally..really want him to get bigger...
