When to turn fans for leds?
When should I have my fans come on for my led lights? I have 72 leds 3 watts each, and it came with two fans. Any ideas? I was thinking 5 minutes every hour the lights are on, since they are pretty loud

What brand light do you have? I would expect them to be temp controlled. Have you left the switch on to see if they cycle off by themselves?

Its called BeamsWork, inexpensive chinese lights hoping to get a couple years out of them. The fans are seperate, they sit on top of the lights. Is there a certain temperature that it shouldn't exceed? I can bring home a temperature gun tomorrow to see how hot they're getting

Most lights have a high temp cut off, i know Aqua illuminations and Radions goto shut down mode when temp reaches 120F. so if there is a way to temp the lights u wanna make it where fans come on and off accordingly.

FWIW. The number one failure of led lighting and associated electronic components is heat. In theory the cooler you keep the system the longer it will last.
