Dry versus frozen food
Can someone direct me to resources on fish nutrition? I feed a regiment of dry pellet foods on even numbered days and frozen food on odd numbered days.
Dry pellet food is a mixture of Hikari seaweed extreme, Cobalt mysis spirulina, Hikari marine s and Spectrum new life marine. Frozen food is a mix of PE mysis, Hikari ocean plankton, some chopped table shrimp, krill and silversides, as well as some brine shrimp. Frozen is fed once every other day, and the dry food is fed 2x/day on the opposite days. All my fish seem fine, in fact most are pretty thick. I suppose if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but I am wondering if I should cut out frozen and stick with dry? |

I think a mixture is best, when you look at the labels crude protein should make up the largest % followed by fat.
IMO, when looking at ingredients, stay away from items with large amounts of non aquatic food sources.

+++ on mixtures. I feed a marine flake about 3 in the afternoon via a Eheim auto feeder, then feed a frozen mixture around 7:00pm. All critters are happy!
