white slime in koralias
I am trying to figure out what the white slime is that builds up in my koralias is. It coats the propellers and the magnet and magnet cavity of the koralias. It doesnt have a strong odor and comes back within a few days of cleaning it. Its the only place where it occurs. I am dosing with vodka and I thought it may be associated with that, but im not sure. I have a 50 gal tank with a 15 gal sump/refugium. In addition to the dosing I have cheato and mangroves in my refugium and run a protein skimmer. I get a dark green almost black skimate from my PS and my water parameters are all in check. The slim issue just bugs me because It seems like it would almost have to affect the effectiveness of my koralias. Any ideas as to what it might be????

Could it be calcium precipitate which commonly forms on power heads and pumps due to the heat generated at those locations?
