Thin red branch critter on the glass

After searching the best I could come up with were red flatworms, but after looking at the google images search results I'm not sure that is correct.

They are about a 1/2" long.

Do they move about, or stay in place? If moving, I'd say some sort of worm. If stationary, possibly hydroids of some kind. Need a much better picture to hazard a better guess.
