Added this rock. I am really happy with the rock and all the swim channels I left as well as coral placement opportunities. What do you guy's think so far.

Still plan on a second heater, wavemaker with two power heads, and a screen for the top but that is pretty close to what I plan to do hardware wise anyway. I will get a chiller as my house has horrible insulation and summer heat can run a bit high if I don't run the AC all day. PG+E would love that.

Have you shut the pump off to make sure the sump can handle all the drain back?? I wouldn't be suprized if you had a little spillage with that setup. I have about 4 gallon of drain back and I gave myself 6 gallons of room in the return chamber. It will take 10 to overflow. Never too safe!

I would also say congrats on the nice setup! I have a 75 and the extra few inches in height would be cool. I love a 90!

No I have not checked that. Maybe I should modify my cabinet to make an end door. If I support that end with 2x4 first I can cut out the panel and use it to make a magnet held hatch. Then it would be easier to put in a bigger sump. Right now the only way to get it in or out is by draining the main tank. After I cut out the end I could just buy acrylic sheets and build my own sump as big as will fit through the opening. My guess would be 44x15x24 that would be 75 gallons or so. I would have to figure out how much water flowed back but it would add to my overall water volume. Theoretically making my tank more stable. Maybe 50 gallons in sump. Who knows what I will end up with under there. Good point though I wasn't really thinking about back flow if the pump stopped. The other thing I forgot to mention on my above post as a wish list is a battery backup.

IMO you don't want a sump that will take up all the room under your tank. I have a 90g with a Trigger Systems Ruby30 sump, holds about 18g of water and is 30x14x15, that's the widest I could fit inside a manufactured (Marineland) stand. Inside the stand I can fit a 5g jug for ATO water, my controller is mounted on the side, and that's about it. I have a few towels inside for any water that may spill but it's very tight getting the jug in and out. I wish I could have found something 24x14 for a sump.

My top off is a chamber built into my sump. I just have to use a maxi jet to go from my rodi bucket into the chamber. I'm on the hunt for a 75 to replace my 55g sump. I want as much fuge as I can get and make more room for equipment in the sump.
