Connecting an ATO to my Apex
I had a DYI auto top off box (purchased from bulk reef supply) and it worked ok for about a year. Now it is making a very strange and loud buzzing noise when it is trying to complete the circuit. I will be receiving my new APEX lite tomorrow in the mail and I want to hook up my ATO system to it. What do I need to complete this and how?? DO I need to purchase the Break Out box from Neptune?? Anyone else running an Apex with an Auto top off connected?? Once I get the break out box I wont need to purchase a new JBL auto top off right?? because the apex break out will take its place??

To have an ATO with an Apex all you need is a couple of float switches a Breakout Box and a 120vac pump. Nothing else.. There are several examples in the User manual on Neptune's web site. Your code will look something like this.
(ATO Outlet) Fallback OFF If SwitchX Closed Then ON (Bottom Float switch) If SwitchXX Open Then OFF (Top Float switch) Where the X's are get replaced by the Bob location in the Aquabus. Hope that helps. Mark |
