Do LEDs ever need replacement bulbs?

Hello forum.

I owned 2 maxpect razor lights and I was wondering if the bulbs ever lose their intensity (similar to other lights) and need to be replaced every 5 years?

If so, what exactly needs to be replaced?

Thanks

If memory serves LEDs are rated for usage until they reach L70, or 70% of their initial luminosity. I imagine different quality LEDs will reach that level sooner than others, but I do recall seeing that modern LEDs should last 50,000 hours until L70. Thus, assuming 12 hours/day, you should be good for over a decade. I don't think I have ever owned a piece of aquarium lighting that I went even half that length of time without upgrading.

Technically you should not need to replace but if you start to burn out diodes due to heat or something else you will need to replace.

"IF" properly designed L70/50K hours as stated above is correct..
HOWEVER.. Thats assuming "proper thermal management"..
