New Evergrow LED over biocube!
I just wanted to get some opinions on what percentage I should start out my new LED light off at. It is over a 29g biocube and approximately 11 inches off the surface. Right now I have the white channel at 15 percent and the blue at 40. It looks great, but didn't know if my corals would accept it or not. The tank had a 14k phoenix metal halide 150w on it before. Thanks!

You can try it that way, It took me a year to realize that my white were too high. Now I only run white for about 4 hours midday and my tank is finally taking off. My theory is that the blue is essential and that the majority of the par going into the tank needs to be from the blue not white. Just my opinion at this point because I am still tinkering with it. I have the Tao TTal-12 lights.
So my recommendation is to only use the blue and keep increasing that to a point where you feel the corals are responding the best, then introduce white and evaluate the response. |
