Cycle question
I have about 15lbs of dry rock I'm getting ready to cycle for a new setup. Does it make a difference in cycle time if I use a larger water volume? I have the option of putting it in a 30g Rubbermaid vs a 5g bucket... I would prefer to use less water but if it's much slower then I don't mind a little more volume.

A small bucket is fine. It does help to have enough room for some water flow, but i would think a 5 gallon bucket is good for 15 pounds of rock.

The 5 gallon bucket is fine. Just add a powerhead for water movement.

Cycling incurred rock either way takes the same amount of time. More water equals less water changes and a smaller ammonia spike though.
