Quick cycle start question

Could I use a piece of caught fish such as trout to start the cycle? I have a fridge full of it lol
Just got my QT tank wanna get it going tonight!

sure, I would start with a little 1x1" piece in the bottom of plastic soda bottle (20 oz cut in half). This way you don't have to lift out the trout by hand after the bacteria has started to eat/melt its flesh (real stinky). If you need more at some point just repeat.

Also remember to seed the tank with bacteria from another tank. Otherwise there will be no cycle.
