I'm just so sad right now.
I am crying as I write this, My beloved little Mr. MaGoo (Lawn Mower Blenny) has died. I don't know what could have happened. He eats really good and no one picks on him at all. I just hand fed him earlier and he kept eating like he normally does. Everything else is ok, nothing different.
Last I checked the tank was one hour ago and I noticed my umbrella leather curling up weirdly so I looked around and it had a large turbo snail eating on it's back, then my little guy went up and started eating in the same place the snail was passing. I didn't think to much about it as he has before so I went on doing other things. I just came back and he was dead just behind the leather. Could the snail have made it release toxins while eating on it's back and then my little guy became a victim of the toxins ? I feel so horrible right now. These little guys are called the ugly fish, but they quickly steal your heart and becomes the favs in the whole tank. I almost feel as if I let him down by not finding him sooner whilst he was taking his last little breaths. Really wonder what has happened. Just so sad right now. Sorry for your loss. Have you checked your water in case something is out of wack? I'd hate to see more losses.

Some leathers sting and release toxins. Which one do you have?

I'm sorry for your loss. It is so easy to get attached to a personality in the tank.

Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately losing fish happens in our hobby and sometimes for no reason.

Sorry to hear! I just got my first blenny on Friday, just a little guy and he is in QT with two fire fish, and I can't seem to get him to eat just yet and as such am already worried. Hopefully your tank is doing ok.
