Thanks Community!
Hey all! Just wanted to drop a note thanking you all for the extreme wealth of knowledge you all share on this site! ATM I'm running a small 15 Gal nano as a means of "scratching the itch" while I prepare for my main DT tank build.
Hopefully I too someday will have a wealth of knowledge to share with the next generation of "noobies" here on RC! I've got a GREAT build planned and naturally will share every step with ya's. Expect an EPIC tank stand build thread for my 72 Gal Bowfront! You'll see some "live edge" lumber incorporated, some VERY high end wood burning, some LED lighting incorporated into the stand itself, and hopefully plenty of other features that you all will enjoy seeing. My father used to be a custom painter. Did vans and Harleys in the 70's... all the crazy stuff.... flake, pearl, candy. That lead to goalie mask painting. Heck he even painted a firefighter helmet for the FDNY after 9/11. Since retiring from that he's gotten into making rustic furniture and uses his talents to do high detail wood burning and carving into this furniture. My carpentry skills are solid as well and I plan on having some good times down in his woodshop building this stand with him. Regardless... you's will see something truly unique when we are done! As for the tank and hardware... I'm a total DIY kinda guy though I will probably purchase some of the main ingredients (like skimmer, reactors, etc.) simply because I want my sump to be a "show piece" as well and DIY isn't ALWAYS quite as "clean" looking. That being said.... I'm not rich so I may DIY and upgrade over time. So again.... Thanks for everything that's been given to the community. I know you all could be staring at your tanks instead of the computer screen! Watch for me... I'm gonna change the world! (Ok maybe that's a bit much!) Menace |
