Cool Euphotica or Taotronics 16 LED Aquarium Lighting

I got the unit off eBay from under $300 with free shipping from Hobbie Bug.

As soon as I installed it over the tank, I saw a dramatic improvement in my corals colors presentation.

I was using a 250w MH. I hated the light with the heat. The temp over the tank would raise as high as 88 degrees. Today, in sunny South FL, the temp over the tank is reading 77. That mean no AC and lower bill.

Hello,

I have a 180 mixed reef and fish tank and want to change out my T5's. The tank is 5' wide by 3' deep, I was thinking about 2-3 of these 16" LED lights. Do you think that I could mount these right about the water level in my hood? Are they rated waterproof or resistant? One more question, do they run warm?

I'm in California and the t5's heat the tank a few degrees and want to get away from that as well as have the color and brightness options these lights have.

Thank you in advance for your help

They shouldn't be put in a hood according to the instructions

I'm considering the 16" programmable Euphotica lights. How are your corals responding to the Euphotica LED lights? I've got a cheaper brand and need to switch in a bad way. Don't want to go back to metal halide.
