cleaning silicone seams

what is the best way to clean the interior seams of an aquarium? I hit the back corner of mine with a scraper and have a 3 inch piece of silicone floating in the middle. Is this a major concern. The seams are covered in algae

I clean mine with a scraper sponge. Less harsh than a blade scraper.

I use a hard toothbrush on mine.
