Water storage tanks P/U near CT

Hello!

I am beginning to collect pieces for an AWC system. Pretty much every water storage tank I find ships from Texas or the Midwest. Does anyone know of a local place to get vertical water storage tanks around 100 gallons around ct? I'm looking for a location around a 4 hour radius of Hartford. I would hate to spend more in shipping then on the tanks themselves. Thank you!

Contact your local farm and ranch supply. They will have them in stock. They are used for all sorts of stuff. Ace-roto mold is the manufacturer and make these specific tanks in Colorado.

Btw online is 2x the price without shipping. Too bad they don't ship well. I've got a 130g setup with an iwaki ready to go. Get two. One for salt one for di.

Here's my dual 200g setup. I run a closed loop di on the fresh tank.

Thanks for the picture. Great set up. That's exactly what I want to build. Are you saying you got them cheaper local? The only place I can find something similar is tractor supply, but they are horizontal not vertical, and very expensive.

Thanks, it has been rock solid. I use a dart for the recirc pump. Use cepex true union ball valves, they turn so much easier then these home depot valves. Well worth the price! I did get them cheaper but about half of the Ace Roto Mold tanks are made here in Denver. The 200g ones I have are made here locally so no shipping costs were occurred by anyone. I picked them up at a place 5 minutes from the manufacturer, they had about 200 different tanks sitting out in the dirt. Have you tried Agway, Petals and Paws, Horses and hounds? I would give those types of places a call and if they don't have any they might be able to guide you in the right direction.

If those don't pan out look up concrete supply places. They use them as well.

Thanks for the advice. I will take a look. I am expecting a call from a local farm supply. I think this weekend I will make the rounds and see who has something similar. Do you run an ato on your RO container? What about an auto shut off on your pump if water levels get too low? Because I am planning to use a stenner for WAC, I am looking into using float switches to control water levels. Any thoughts?

I turn my RO on manually. The large tank has a latching top off so when the large vat fills to the top it turns the RO off and it will not turn back on until the RO is manually reset. My reef angel does that. When I turn the RO on it automatically flushes the membrane and times for 72hours on (total fill time) then turns off. If it hits the latching ATO it turns off early and then that latching is reset once the controller turns off at 72h. The reason the latching switch is important is in the situation that the RO still has time left in that 72h window and the system refills the 5g container resulting in the RO coming back on to refill that 5g. The RO has a ASOV and a float on the 200g tank as a safety precaution.

The 5g reservoir has a float switch and a float valve. It is fed by a 15rpm masterflex peristaltic and is run long enough each day by the controller to top it off (if completely empty). The pump is then turn off by the float switch but has the float valve for backup. This will deliver a maximum of 5g per day between both of my systems.

Each sump (display and qt) are fed by their own 15rpm masterflex peri through dual float switches and a float valve. This is done realtime and is not connected to a controller.

It would take a lot for this setup to put water on the floor or deliver more water then requested. I find that a good thing when there is the potential for a 200g mistake.

The reason I have a large system is because In emergency I will need a lot of water. I can do a 50% water change on 800g.

I normally use a filmtech 75gpd membrane but have dual 150s on standby in case I need to make a lot of water fast.
