Looks like a good design. Are you making this sump/refugium yourself?

This is actually exactly how I have my sump set up. I would suggest not using a filter in between the fuge and the return (it will get be a detritus trap/nitrate factory).

You don't want a lot of volume going through the refugium so put it on the end and either use a small pump to feed it and overflow back to return or use a T with a valve.

The filter is the cheap blue type you buy at LFS. I can change it out easily if it starts to get build up. The main reason I'm using it is to prevent pods or and bits from the refugium to go back up into the main tank.

I was wondering if I should add another wall to make the flow start towards the mid area of the refugium? As it sits now it would flow over the top from one end to the other. By installing another wall with a mid exit into the fugue might be better?

I put mine at the opposite end of where my water drains into my sump for this same reason. I just put a ball valve downstream of where the drain line T's off to the refugium so I can adjust the flow the refugium gets. Intake/skimmer section on left, return in the middle, refugium on the right.

Design is a good design, the only thing I'm not too sure is your water volume? Depending on the size of this sump you're pretty close to the top of the tank if you were to have a power outage you do not want your sump to overflow. How much space will you have from the waterline to the top of the tank? And what size sump is it and for what size DT.

My main tank is 40 gal. and the refugium is a 20 gal. the water level will be 10" the tank height is 16".
As for power outage I've made sure that the skim box and the return nozzle won't drain much water should the power go out.
