Filter Sock On a 20 Gallon

I want to add a filter sock on my 20 gallon long tank, but now sure the best way to add a Filter Sock

How / what is the best way to to attach a filter sock and filter sock bracket.

I see many places sell brackets, but I am not sure if it will work on a tank with rim such as the store bought fish aquariums.

I do not want to use the draw string.
