Bleached Coral Skeleton
I am looking for the best place to get a large amount of dead coral skeletons. Im wanting to put some larger pieces in my tank and a lot of smaller pieces in my fuge/sump. Does any one have a good recommendation on where I could find a good deal? Also I was wondering what most people do with their LPS and SPS that pass away and bleach. Do most people just throw them away? Thanks, Adam.

People use it for live rock or rock ruble. I dont see why anyone would throw it away. Is there a particular reason you want large dead corals? Seeing giant stony skeletons bums me out personally. Makes me think how awesome it must have been when it was alive. You can get some cool rock formations from artificial rocks, if you are just looking for unique rock shapes.

Just wanting to get a better reef look and thought if there were a place that had already dead ones anyway, why not. I agree its a big bummer to see dead anything, especially when you saw it live first. The natural reefs are built on old dead coral, so I was thinking what would look more natural than coral growing on coral.

A good bit of my natural live rock is just really old coral skeletons, or rock with really old skeletons fused in it. Id say search through live fish store's live rock bins. Just about every time i go to a live fish store they have at least a few good size peices of rock that are obviously old skeletons that have been "live-rockified" (are old and gnarly looking with tons of pores). If you are looking for bleach white skeletons, id say dont even bother. They will pretty soon not be white.

I hadn't even thought of that at all. I was actually kind of trying to see if some one happened to have a large pile accumulated since they started that they didnt mind getting rid of. I don't really care about color or anything aesthetic, just want to provide the most appropriate environment for the inhabitants.
