The Aquaclear Fuge Ideas

hey- there's an aquaclear 70 setup as a hang on the back refugium. an incandescent strip light with a 5500k compact fluorescent bulb is the light source. chaetomorpha is present and doing fine inside, eating up nitrates and phosphates. besides live rock rubble, what else can be put inside the refugium? i am lookign for something that will absorb nh3/nh4+ from the seawater. organisms on live rock do this fine, but is there anything else i could use?

and if someone uses an aquaclear filter as a refugium, please share your setup and ideas too! thanks.
