QT Experiences?
I currently have a pair of OC Clowns in QT. They have been in a couple weeks. They are both eating very well and seem happy and healthy. So far very uneventful... Given my experience so far I was wondering how often you guys find issues when QTing?? Just looking for some context.
Thanks.

as long as minimal demands are met shouldnt be much issues. newly setup Q tanks are where issues will be had.

my qt is a 14g biocube. i do a 2g water change every couple of days whether there is a fish in it or not. i also have a couple of pieces of live rock since i haven't had to medicate anything. they provide some biological filtration and also some hidey holes. i just released a new kole tang a little while ago and he has disappeared into the rocks. LOL

I would never add a fish to my display before going through this process. |

If a QT is handling the bio-load, meaning that there is never any ammonia; I'd feed most fish as much as they will eat. A QT is an excellent environment to get fish eating a variety of foods. IMO, many, many fish are seriously underfed....both in the QT & the DT.

i agree, QT is the best place where fish can be fed and trained to take variety of foods and also best place to experiment with meds and one on one attention.
Since i started understanding the hobby better i have never put fish in my DT without qt, never had any issues either.
