next fish.
So I am looking to adding my next set of fish to my biocube 29. not adding corals yet because I want to do a led upgrade for the lighting system in the tank.
so far there are 2 juvi Occ. Clowns in the tank and I was thinking I would adding either a single or pair of juvi Banggai Cardinals. I have read both good and bad things about the Banggai getting along with clowns. So I figured I would ask for myself. can i put banggai cardinals with clowns? if so should I add one or two. I do like the schooling they do in groups. but ive heard that they can fight in groups. plus I would like to add more then just cardinals and clowns to the tank in the long run. Thanks!

I have two young Ocellaris and a Bengaii. They all get along just fine. I also have a PJ Cardinal and a Firefish. All peaceful.

It depends on the type of clowns you get. If you go with Maroons then you will be very limited on the other types of fish you can add to that size tank. If you do Occe or Percula then you should have no issues with a couple banggai.

Banggai cardinals will fight if they are in a larger group and in a small space - they are pairing. If you are not looking to breed them then I would suggest only having one, there is a way to determine their sex which is on several different threads if you search for the topic, they are fairly prolific and to me they are the guppy of the salt water world. I have bred them when they release the young they are territorial and will even (at least mine did consistently) go after the clowns. This is just my experience.

one would be fine. I sold my breeding pair that were quite large and kept one of the babies. Gets along famously with my leopard wrasses and clown.
