Any experience with the NEW reef octopus DC skimmer pumps?

The pump on my SRO XP2000 skimmer is starting to fail. I could spend $225 for a new Bubble Blaster pump with a 3 year warranty, or hold out until Reef Octopus releases the new DC pump. From what I gather, the new DC pumps are more expensive, have shorter warranties, and consume slightly less power (BB2000 is only 30 watts). That said, if the new DC pumps are quieter, I could be convinced to wait.

Anyone having firsthand experience with the new RODC 5500S pump, and how the noise compares to that from the Bubble Blaster 3000 or 5000; your input would be greatly appreciated.
