bubble counter question

What do you put in the bubble counter to be able to see the bubbles? water or something else?

And if u are bubble counter chamber it counts co2 gas passing through. And when the reactor is working it would be filled with water. So when the gas pass through ull be able to see the bubble
Their is nothing else u can do but as i recall their is something u put to color the water in that chamber. But i dont remember where i saw that.

I'm not sure what most reefers use, but in other applications, scientists often use mineral oil in bubble counters and related devices so that there is no evaporation over time.

Saltwater. All bubble counters are not created equal. Post a pic of your counter.

i used mineral oil like Randy suggested when I had my CR setup.

Saltwater or mineral oil can be used in that counter.

Why saltwater as opposed to fresh?

I wouldn't use SW, when the water evaporates the salt left behind will clog the lines. if your gonna use water use rodi water

Fresh water works as well.
