How Did This Happen?

How did this happen? It looks likes the puffer backed into the powerhead against the current. There is no way he could have fit through the grate.

If this is an AC powerhead there is a 50% chance it starts in reverse. Do you have them on wavemaker?

That's what I was thinking. No wavemaker. When I found the fish the powerhead was going in the correct direction.

i cant see whats going on. is it dead? is it stuck? how is it stuck?

it looks like the fish is folded up against one of the plastic bars that crosses the output of the powerhead. perhaps the power went off, he started poking around in there, and then the pump came on.

If the powerhead was off he wouldn't have been able to completely fit. Here is a video and reenactment. The powerhead is also rated at 1,300 GPH

On a side note can anyone guess what country the powerhead was made in?
