Guess who's back, back again

Hey all, after a small hiatus from RC, and from the hobby, I'm back with a new setup and another one in the making. I had a 75 reef that I shut down after moving out of the rents edifice, which I never got around to starting up again. I then got a nano reef going, which as you may have heard Calgary flooded and I was evacuated and without power for 3 months so you can probably imagine how that looked. And some how my purple pseudochromis survived with no food or power for those three months. I got the nano reef going again with a blue sapphire damsel and tiger pistol shrimp. I am moving again in November and I have big plans in the making. Got a 75 with a eshopps R300 sump. Planning to do a fuzzy dwarf lion, Achilles tang, Popeye Catalufa Soldierfish, saddle valentini puffer, and hopefully down the road a maroon clown but not set on it. Hoping to do some soft corals (with caution), sponges and NPS. Would love to hear any input. If this was your system, what would be some noteworthy equipment you would run, what would you dose? Any input is appreciated.

Not feelin it? I was on the fence too. My buddy who has been reefing for years talked me into it haha not trying to point fingers but. I personally like kole tangs and Caribbean blues. Not sure they would have the sass to stand up too the puffer and soldierfish.

Uh, maybe 15 MP60's to make the tang think he is in a properly sized tank. Achilles tangs can be be too aggressive in 6 or 8 foot tanks because they are not big enough, please do more research.

Yeah in June of last year, had a genuinely bad time. Ended up giving him back to the LFS as I tried to resort my life out.

More like s*** to a baby blanket haha. Yeah it was a pretty bad time. My Ma and Pa were happy as I stayed with them for the three months. I'm thinking a kole tang is more realistic from a temperament stand point, hopefully will keep the stress down in the other fish as well

I would advise against the Achilles as well. How about small fish: more fish=more color=more movement. Gobies, Blennies, Occy Clowns, etc.

That's my vote.

I've had my Achilles for 3 years now and can honestly say he would've quickly stressed himself out quick in a 75. We're in the process of upgrading from a 6 ft to a much wider 8 ft because even the 6 ft was pushing it with the amount of swimming he does.

Bacon_boss, tried to send you a private message, but says you are not accepting them.

Anyways, the community has spoken, "No tang for you!".

Kole tang should be fine in a 75. I have one in my 105. Word of caution though, if you get a "mean one" he will be the last fish you add. Kole tangs are usually ok with other fish however, they are still tangs.

That's what I figured, just don't want them fronting on the Popeye, as I know they are very prone to ich, like just as bad as tangs
