Any Vendors out there with UVC and ultrafiltration experience?
Hi everyone!
I'm looking for vendors, or anyone else with experience of high amounts of UVC on their systems. Please share your experience, positive or negative when using high amounts of UVC irradiation. Did it work? Did it NOT work? Any thoughts on the subject are welcome Here's how we use it at our facility: We have 330W of UVC on 2000L of water with a turnover of 8000l/h through the UVC-filter. This is the lowest dose that I have ever seen been effective on removing ich from a system. Theoretically it shouldn't be enough if you use data available, for example from Emperor Aquatics and their UVC-dosing table. Still I have never been ich-free for this long. One of the biggest NO we have found when using UVC is dirty water. When the water gets logged with particles the UVC's will clogg and stop working. What is your experience? Also, has anyone tried ultrafiltration for the removal of "all" particles in the water? Was it economically viable? It should be effective at removing all of the bigger parasites that are common in the trade. Especially if combined with UVC to remove the smallest pathogens like viruses and very small bacteria.
