Rock colors
I was wondering if anyone could tell me roughly what color changes dry rock changes in a new tank? My system has been setup for about 40 days now and it has gone through a diatom bloom, iadded a cuc and shortened my lighting from 10 hours back to 5 hours. The diatom has subsided, and now a very light yellowish/ greenish hugh is starting to develop. Does anyone know?

Sounds about right! Mine turned green then coralline started growing. The green then started going away.

From white, to brown, to green to purple/green/pink coraline. This process will take a few months.

Does this color right? There is no hair growing that I can see. And does anyone know what bacteria this is?

Anything but white... White generally denotes dead...
Dull brown primarily with splashes of green, purple, grey, red and lots of other things thrown in to surprise you...

Here is a close-up of my rock. It's going to continually change color. Then coralline algae is going to start taking over. Looks good to me. Your looks like a green algae.

Green is fine as long as it's not hairy. Looks like you are right on track. Keep up with the coraline on the glass. It's far easier to manage as it comes along. Don't worry...you'll have more pink/purple than you know what to do with in the months to come.
