Reef Octopus Regal 300SSS INT or JNS SHARK series SK-7 Skimmer

Which of this skimmer would you guys recommend for a 400 gallons tank?

Thanks!

I've personally seen a sk7 doing work on a 490 gallon reef. My buddy who had this on his tank has recently took the tank down due to selling his house but when it was up it was amazing! He replaced a large atb with this skimmer and actually preferred the jns. I can tell you that I've never seen such dark putrid nasty skimmate in my life of reefing (probably due to the massive bioload). He has sold off a lot of his equipment but he won't part with the skimmer. Haha.

I just checked out the regal 300sss. No comparison. Too small for a 400. It's only a 12" skimmer with the pump inside. 300 gallons max IMHO. The sk7 is 16" and trust me when I tell you its a beast in person and very quiet also. One of the best large needle wheel skimmers out imo. Comparable to the large vertex alpha's and the larger atb's for a fraction of the cost at $999.99. I'd go with the sk7.

Thanks Drae!

The owner of SoCal Tropical Fish Outlet recommended Bubble Magus Hero 77 Skimmer. He said it is better quality. What do you think?

I don't think so. Better quality with rock pumps over sicce sharks? Again... I don't think so.
