82 degrees help speed up ich erradication?

So I'm just finishing up my first week with no fish in my tank, my little 10 gallon QT seems pretty stable, the 4 fish are swimming around pretty normal, treating with cupramine and I was wondering, since my tank has been steady 82 degrees with this heat spell, will that speed up the extermination of the ich parasite in my DT?

Just wondering...

i know this was true for the freshwater variety of Ich, but there has not been on concrete studies for the saltwater crypto/ich. we do know that salinity and temperature both play a part in how long the cysts (Tomites) take to hatch. so, my bets are that if the research studies released specifics we would see some higher-temperature effect.

but, in the meantime, I will trust the parts of the studies that say to expect the possible maximum of 72 days.

Raising temps in the home aquaria will not shorten the ich lifecycle. I personally believe that there are several ich strains out there in the home aquaria and they are constantly evolving. The only things that actually work in killing off the life cycle are copper, cupramine and chloroquine Phosphate. Some will argue that hypo is a treatment but it is the most difficult to do correctly and the stress and effort that go into it are hardly worth it

Correct. Tank transfer will eliminate it from your fish as part of a quarantine protocol; but once your tank has ich, it will take 72 days to insure it is gone completely once all fish are removed. Also, note that at least one strain of cryptocaryon irritans is hyposaline indifferent so hyposalinity would not work.
