Can I put my gate valve in this location?

Yes that's fine. It will give u easier access for adjustments. That's about where mine will be.

Great, will make look much better, as my plumbing will be exposed - at least until I skin the metal stand with some nice wood. I plan to spray all the PVC black with some krylon fusion for looks.

Only thing I need to figure out now is what parts I am going to need for the air line on the open channel.
