Need Help Identifying A hitchhiker
Having some trouble Identifying a small cluster of Hitchhikers that came in on a small piece of LR, from my local LFS. They are small white and round, and bloom out like a dandelion seed of the top, they also have a dark blue, black, or purple dot on each stalk. They do retract back to the stem when touched, and like medium water current. Throw out your .02 and if any precautionary words of wisdom are available, I am all ears. Thanks!

Not a good pic,but agree on small feather dusters as said above. One of my large red hermits has one on his shell.

First off, Thank you all for the prompt replies.
I searched online through all of the suggestions given and the feather dusters seem to match pretty spot on to what they look like. On that note, I am curious to know what the general census feels about Feather Dusters in your Aquarium. Good/Bad? Worth the time in letting them grow? Or finding a friendly way of reducing population and keeping them under control. I am open to all comment on this matter negative or positive. Thank you Jon, And Billdog I am already 3 more Soft Coral Species smarter since I woke up today because of you guys. May your Reefs and Aquariums always be stable. -Stu |

I have the tiny white feather dusters in my tank. They simply appeared one day and they don't seem to actually get any bigger. They have spread around a little bit but don't seem to be taking over anything. I was told when the nutrient level is right for them they appear and when it changes they are gone. Not problematic that I can see but I'm a chronic overfeeder so that's probably why they showed up in the first place.
