Upset Firefish
I did a pretty extensive remodeling of my aquascaping that included moving the rock where my firefish sleeps. I put that rock back and the firefish went back into it but hasn't come out in two days. I can see her (I call her a her) under the rock and she's alive. She's very active and is normally out when the lights ramp up, so I was wondering if there's anything I should do to put her at ease.

Anything else change in the tank, new additions?
They are odd little fish, once I took out the aggressor the remaining one was still out but will occasionally go hide under the rocks or goes under the rocks & then shoots out past the duncan doing a little circle. Just keep the tank as quiet & stress free as possible & it will be back out.

+1 on then being odd haha. They are timid and any changes might intimidate them. They'll usually adjust after a week or two.

No other changes to the tank other than some frags. I've had her for 4 years and it's been a trip to see her go from being super shy to being out all the time. I'm just worried I freaked her out and she's going to revert back to being timid.

Update
This afternoon the firefish finally came out to eat, although she was more skittish than normal. When she came out I saw that her right eye was damaged. It looks grayish/white and it seems swollen. It's almost as though the outer layer of tissue has puffed up creating a bubble.
What should I do now? Leave her alone or put her into a separate tank and treat with antibiotics? If I should treat, what should I treat with? I tried to get a photo, but she was moving around too much. |

Sorry I missed your post Snorvich, It's a DSA 65g with YWG, Bonded pair of Percs and 5 red spot cardinals.
They all get along, and theres not been any fights, so I'm positive the damage isn't from a fish. |

Every now and then my firefish has what I call a "wimp attack", and starts jumping at its own shadow. Often spends the better part of a couple days hiding. After that, it's out and as gregarious as ever, not even remotely concerned by the hyperactive tang, foxface, or wrasses.
