Berlin method question
Hey all, I have a 75 gallon that has been up for 2 months now and doing well. I have the sock, 2 heaters (backup) and 120 Eshopps protein skimmer in sump, along with the sponge that goes before the last chamber, where the return pump is.
I read a lot of reefers were not using the sock due to hassle of cleaning and being a trap for the bad stuff, along with removing good things for the tank that can feed your corals, along with pods, which I want! I removed it a few weeks ago and things are fine. Now I'm thinking of removing the sponge that is before the final chamber. I don't want the sponge to prevent any pods from getting back into the tank. So, would my 2-chamber sump be ok with just some live rock and protein skimmer? There is of course live sand and live rock in the DT as well. Thanks! Steve Last edited by shredmaster; 07/28/2014 at 12:05 PM. |
