Buying a customer tank

Looking for advice on which tank builder I should purchase with. I am looking for a 250 gallon tank that is 60"x36"x27". Have been looking at a custom DSA or a Planet Aquariums tank.

However, when looking to purchase a Planet Aquarium I have come across online about a guy named Rodney Hicks who is able to sell these Planet aquariums.

I am wondering if anyone else out there knows anything about this guy and his background? Is he a middle man? I have a hard time convincing myself to pay money to a guy I have never met.

Any recommendations for tank that is not going to be more than about $1500?

Custom**

Although I enjoy my DD tank, if I had to do all over again I would have either a 27" or max 30" deep tank. I hate not being able to pick up and move rockwork and corals in the back of the tank with my hands

If you are looking at either of these tanks I would recommend going to a few LFS and comparing prices. Both tank makers are wholesale so you will have to go through a 3rd party. Getting it through a LFS will give you the best option to not accepting the tank if it is scratched or damaged.

Thanks for the advice. I happen to have loved that 250 I saw at 36" wide, but I am sure it is hard to get into the back of the tank. Being a pretty tall guy though, I would imagine a step ladder would allow me to get into the back of the tank.

I just got a quote for a 225 DD Miracles tank, and the price seemed fair. However, I could go with a Deep Sea 190g Pro tank for about $800 less.

I also have decided to go with a local guy. I was under the assumption that this Rodney guy was a rep for Planet Aquariums, turns out he isn't. I emailed him about it and the question was looked over and ignored.
