got diatoms? get astrea
I recently experienced my first diatom bloom. I can get over the efficiency of my astrea snails. They have completely cleaned half of the rocks so far, I mean the rocks look like they never had anything on them! These guys are awesome!

These little guys do so much for keeping things cleaned.
A well diverse tank top to bottom will result in a happy tank. From my pods up to my anemones they work together. Ensuring a diverse biological mix helps also.

Turbos annihilated my diatom bloom. This was 5 minutes after I introduced them to the tank. They literally hit the bottom and went right to work:

Turbo's are may favorite along with Ceriths. I do have astreas but I hate turning those little buggers over win they fall. Nothing cleans like a Turbo though.

I'm a big fan of the Trochus snails myself.

Turbos are great... if you bolt down the corals. No frag racks for turbos, they love to bulldoze.

True on the turbos lol. It is almost funny to watch them plow around. I also have to wonder how well they do in a tank that doesn't have continuous algae growth. I traded my along after they cleaned my 120 post cycle.
